Glossy yearender 2012: My favorite beauty finds

I still get fairly amused whenever people go up to me just to tell me that they read my blog and love the glossy series. Admittedly, it’s been a little tedious to find interesting “cool” girls to feature but like you, my dear readers, my GGs(glossy girls) have been amazing and engaging. I’m also pretty much influenced by their beauty choices.

That said, here are my favorite beauty discoveries for 2012:

Jergens’ Natural Glow – I love to tan and I am obsessed with maintaining it as long as I can and Natural Glow is the best! I put it on after I shower and I get to build some sort of color that looks, IMHO, pretty natural. :P
Bioderma Sebium H2O – When I get too lazy to wash my face, this is as close to an actual face wash. The Sebium version is for oily skin and it magically melts all the dirt off of your face. It is genius!
Chanel’s Frenzy – THE BEST NAIL COLOR! Every time I use it, I get tons of compliments. Flattering, clean and well, sort of edgy. It is the best neutral nail lacquer.
Seche Vite Top Coat – Turns any polish super glossy and it is probably the best quick dry top coat in the market. I am a believer!
Oil-free deep moisturizer from SuperDrug - I got this walking around Watson’s in SM Bacolod and it has been true love ever since. Oil-free and prevents blemishes and it’s very affordable, too.
Burberry lipstick- Burberry beauty is filled with multi-faceted neutrals! I super love their lip tints with deep browns, they’re both fresh and work-appropriate(perfect for people who work in very conservative settings like me!). Even their fresh glow is so divine, gives off a luminous sheen to your face.
Charlotte Ronson for Sephora – A Summer’s Kiss - Whenever I’m abroad, I look for tanners and bronzers and this is such a good affordable find in Sephora. It leaves your skin slightly bronzed and glowingly radiant.
Nichido Mineral Eyeliner – This is my “secret” favorite eyeliner! Cheap and effective! My favorite color is their taupe called “tiger eyes” which makes your eyes defined but not too severe. It’s the perfect grey-brown color!
Clarisonic Mia – MY FAVORITE BEAUTY FIND. LIKE EVER. I am so fanatical about it, it has changed the way I clean my face forever! Truly made a huge difference in my skin – Everybody noticed (including myself and my very opinionated mother) the smaller pores and radiant skin! One big beauty tip I like to share with my friends about aging and beauty is to keep it simple by focusing on skin care. I’ve also minimized(sometimes eliminated!) use of foundation because of the mia. The goal is to achieve glowing, luminous and dewy skin. I think it really makes the difference and it also makes you look much younger! People are kind of shocked to believe how old I am(LOL or maybe they’re just making me bola LOL). Here is my full review of the clarisonic mia. I LOVE IT.

  7. I LOVE Frenzy. I was late to the party because I couldn’t use polish for months after my nail-slicing incident. But I love it na, haven’t used any other color since I started using it.

    Thinking of getting a Mia because of you. Bad!

  10. I first heard about Clarisonic from your Glossy series. And then read about it everywhere else. And it really seemed like a wonderful, too-good-to-be-true product, until my SIL told me that it was indeed a miraculous one!

    So my ultimate pasalubong/gift to myself to mark my first ever trip to the US of A was to buy my own Clarisonic Mia! :D I nearly bought the Aria because it was so compact and it had a very cute animal print. But nevertheless, the Mia won me over (with also the support of my SIL and brother – who also extolled its benefits on his skin). Cannot wait to try it! :)

  12. Hi Grass here’s my new favorite find… http://www.dermstore.com/product_Strawberry+Rhubarb+Hyaluronic+Serum_27508.htm any hyaluronic acid serum actually, it makes my skin so nice! The more I use it the more flawless (I think) I get :P This one just smells so good :D

    Oh and Duo lash glue. Sticks better than any lash glue I’ve tried, you know… for my drag queen looks. I keed… I use it for performances but I’m beginning to use it na for normal (tiny) false lashes when I wanna go out.

  16. I scoured all Watsons branch in Manila for any Superdrug item but found none so far. I am now asking friends in Bacolod to buy me some. Crossing fingers you didn’t hoard them all. :)

    a big fan of the glossy series.
    I’ve heard great reviews about the Mia and I wanted to get one. You said that it would be cheaper to get it from amazon. May I know how much did it cost you with the delivery cost and all?
    I found one on ebay, but if it costs just the same with Amazon, I might just opt to buy it there than on ebay.
