My pic

Ces Guerrero spent most of her professional career in Advertising as an Account Manager but after 7 years, she took a leap of faith. She moved to Los Angeles to train in Beauty Make-Up Artistry at the MUD or the Make-up Designory. Ces is now entering her 8th year as a pro make-up artist. When she is not working on make-up jobs, she reverts to her account management skills and on a freelance basis, manages corporate events with event companies.

Hair products

My hair is anything but heaven sent. It’s thin, fine and limp. Luckily, my hair has a bit of a natural wave thing going on and I work with great hairstylists who have passed on some great tips that have made my “natural wave” work for me.

After washing my hair, I was told to blow dry until damp. Then get any of these products and scrunch it in and work it into the mid to ends of my hair. After, let it fan dry or aircon dry. I usually stand under the AC vent or if I’m on my way to somewhere, I let my hair directly aircon bake in the car while I’m driving. When it has dried, the product plus cold air brings out more pronounced waves giving my hair a bit more body and volume. Products featured in picture are amazing!!!

Cleansers

I’ve been using Cetaphil for ages and its been consistently a winner. It also doubles up as my make-up remover at the end of the day. Garnier’s light milky toner is great too because instead of the stingy, tight feeling you get with other toners, this one is milky in texture and it doesn’t dry up your face but eventually sets on your skin nice and matte-like, not milky and slimy.

Shower gel

I love showering with shower gel. The rich bubbles, lather and scent it produces together with a bath lily creates a magnificent experience. It’s like a quick 7-minute vertical bubble bath in the morning before you have to face the perils of the day. Plus the scent from the shower gel wafts and lingers throughout the bathroom for a while so it doubles up as a nice air freshener.

Moisturizer

For busy ladies, who has time to put on layers of product on their faces before stepping out at the start the day? The tinted moisturizer is, in my opinion, one of the greatest beauty inventions. It acts as a moisturizer, SPF protection and base all in one! And it’s coverage is light and just enough for daily wear. BB cream is another fab beauty invention. Not only does it moisturize, SPF protect and serve as a primer for your make-up, it minimizes your pores!!! BB cream is something to invest on before those high school reunions or parties where you know your ex with his current will be present. (wink)
For bed time moisturizing, I like to use something light like the Clean&Clear oil free moisturizer or the Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizer. Another moisturizer I love but ran out of (and therefore not included in photo) is Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer. Whether in a tropical or cold climate, this moisturizer is absolutely awesome!

Body lotion

I wash my hands maniacally which causes dryness. So at the end of the day, I feel the need to treat them right. I lotion up my hands, arms, elbows and legs with Kiehl’s Deluxe Hand & Body Lotion with Aloe Vera & Oatmeal. Another great product of Kiehl’s!

Nail polish 2

I used to be a nail polish junkie back in the day. I used to go through a gamut of shades but these days, I’ve streamlined to just two : Revlon’s Fire and Orly’s French Manicure in Pink.

Fragrance

Just like the saying “You’re never fully dressed without a smile” goes, I feel the same about fragrance. The last step before stepping out is a squirt of fragrance on your neck and wrists. Bottles to the left are what I’m currently using, bottles to the right are what’s next.

Make-up

I wouldn’t even know where to begin talking about favourite make up. Because of what I do, make up products are like my babies and how can you pick favourites? Or make-up is just too big a topic to cover for me and this blog doesn’t have all day! So in a nutshell, here’s a “family picture” of some of my stuff. 😉

  1. Really, divasoria! Thanks for this blog! I learn something new every other week. And it’s also nice to validate some of what I use, knowing that other girls use them, too. More power and here’s to more glossies.
