i finally got around to posting more photos from my short sidetrip to rome – here’s the part 1 and a “pilgrimage” to santa maria novella . didn’t do much in rome since i really just felt like walking around. i’m pretty boring like dut.

i stayed in this lovely converted convent just a mere 5-minute walk to the vatican. it’s santa maria alle fornaci. it’s clean, decent, accessible and very affordable. the people who stay here are mostly retirees and pilgrims.

i actually befriended a few traveling nuns and priests. and nope, still not going in an actual convent. hehehe.

but my favorite part about fornaci is the breakfast. maybe i’m a breakfast person but they served a pretty good meal! i loved the dry meats and cheese. the muesli was also very good. and don’t get me started with the coffee. it was REALLY good.
