This week’s glossy feature is Nikki Luna, one of the most talented and most acclaimed artists of our generation tackling topics in social activism, politics and feminism with her work sold worldwide and most recently in Sotheby’s. This proud University of the Philippine Fine Arts Alum is also the founder of StART Project – a non-government organization focused on Youth victims of Human Rights violations, abused and victims in war zones, using art as a means to help them cope up and deal with adversity. Nikki is the modern torchbearer in melding art with social consciousness and rocking her distinct style while she’s at it.
here it goes – basically I like it clean, fresh and natural looking. I love getting my color naturally from the sun. When your tanned there’s almost no need for make up.
cetaphil for my daily facial cleanser. I use it when I wake up and before I sleep. Feels really clean and fresh after you use it.
Japanese Clearasil – milder cleanser when i have some blemishes, and even after washing literally feels smooth.
Dove – my everyday soap. Moisturizes my dry sun exposed skin.
whenever I put make up, mostly the eye area I’m good with maybelline make up remover.
I use the Clarins Hydra quench mask and moisturizer. My skin can be dry with all the sun and swimming that I do. Clarins hdray quench cream never feels heavy or sticky.
Listerine smart rinse – I use it after brushing my teeth not too strong just right. doesn’t sting.
my make up:
During the day i just put:
That Gal by Benefit – I use this alone during the day. It brightens up the skin. or I mix it with You Rebel by benefit in tan – its a tinted moisturizer. depends if its too hot i dont need the moisturizer, but “that gal” is the best.
then I always need my eyebrow pencil, I’m happy with instant brow by benefit again in light brown
and face shop‘s eyebrow pencil too. they both come with the brush.
with bobbi brown brush
I also use a mascara, maybelline volume express
and use the shu uemura mini eye lash curler. works well for my small eyes. and thin eye lashes.
Lipstick – it’s Mac in Satin and mocha
and under the eyes I put ooh lala lift from benefit too
At night (if I do go out)
mac 45 dark tan. I’m usually tan for my powder.
cinema secrets rich tan
I wear really light make up. The more natural the better.
My scents are:
If I want an all day all night scent it would be Chance by chanel. (but I have allergies and strong scents can cause my allergies)
I swim and go to the beach a lot. I mostly have different kinds of tanning oils.
for the body, I use hawaian tropic dark oil, hawaiian tropic dark lotion,
I alternate it with banana boat dark tanning lotion,
I use Skinceuticals spf 45 which I get from dermatologist dr. Jonathan Yu in Glorietta, i put this on my face before anything else. This was recommended by my friend Kat tantoco-lobregat. Its the best sunscreen you can put. Its got transparent zinc. Ideal for sports, swimming and all day exposure to the sun.
I use Clarins sunscreen spray 6 for my hair, face upper body last.
Why i love:
I love Benefit because they smell really good. they dont smell like the usual make up.
I love cinema secrets– their palette are the best when it comes to base foundation. When you know how to mix you can easily get your color. reminds me of painting
Stila gel liner bronze give a natural shimmery color on your eyes. Glides smooth and looks really natural.
the eyebrow colors of benefit and face shop isn’t dark. Just the right brown for me.
