phoenix, rising.
whenever i told my friends i was going to jakarta for a short trip, they all had that weird look on their faces that just screamed out “why jakarta?”. as one friend said, nobody goes to jakarta for fun. well, for your info, i was going to jakarta to watch phoenix.
the concert did not disappoint. i also thought the experience was different. i’ve never been to jakarta and did not exactly have any great expectations about the city. it’s pretty much like any other south east asian megapolis. i do have to note that the club we went to was very pretty and i thought, fun. and believe me, i’m pretty jaded. you’ve been to one club, you’ve seen it all. or so i thought. i wish manila had that kind of vibrant scene. everything just seems stale in our lil old town.

i loove phoenix! after the concert my friend and i were like “THAT WAS THE BEST CONCERT EVER, PWEDE NA AKO MAMATAY!” and then we leave the music hall to find out it had started snowing. we were about to take on a 6hour drive without snow tires, so we almost got our wish!

ooh i’ve seen them twice na since then including one at coachella last year. they’re amazing to watch! the daft punk x phoenix gig in NYC last october would’ve been TDF!
